SEE Internship Position Opening Fall 2008

The following job description is for a paid Internship with The School for Ethical Education (SEE) to work with the guidance of the Executive Director at SEE’s office in Milford, CT. The intern will help administer SEE’s Laws of Life Essay Writing Program by:

  1. Disseminating information about the contest throughout Connecticut by mailings, faxes, website and press releases
  2. Recruiting target schools to participate in the contest
  3. Tracking all contacts made for assessment of contest community outreach
  4. Assisting in communication between Executive Director and project schools
  5. Facilitating communication with statewide essay contest judges and essay participants (notification and awards to winners)
  6. Supporting the hosting of an awards reception for contest winners
  7. Completing a final contest report for funders.

The position requires a strong background with computer applications, specifically Microsoft® Outlook®, Word® and Excel®. Students in education majors (English or Language Arts), communications or business marketing are welcome to apply. Visit SEE’s Laws of Life Essay Writing Program for background information.

The position start date is anticipated to be September 8, 2008. This is a paid internship for up to 12 hrs/week for both fall and spring semesters. Hourly wage will range from $10 to $13/hr depending on experience. Successful applicants will commit to remain for both semesters of the internship.
