Mr. Ray Williard of Bristol Eastern High School serves as an outstanding example for students of an individual committed to community service. He utilizes his classroom as a vehicle to promote those values associated with giving back to others, particularly those less fortunate. His students have used their skills in construction and woodworking to build a number of projects for school and community organizations. In doing so, students learn about the needs of others and how to provide support and caring. Mr. Williard encourages students to seek out projects and to become actively involved without regard to publicity and self-aggrandizement.

Mr. Williard is always willing to assume additional tasks and is a role model of the individual who actively contributes to his environment and assists in creating a better community.
