Benefits of the Laws of Life Program
Participation in the
Laws of Life essay program has many benefits:
- Helps students discover the values and ideals they believe will help them live successful and productive lives
- Motivates students to produce excellent writing
- Develops a sense of positive community within the classroom
- Provides writing prompts to stimulate student writing
- Helps prepare students for standardized tests (in CT, the CMT and CAPT)
- Fits easily into many curricula (analysis of character in literature, history or current events, expository or persuasive writing, health topics)
- Offers students recognition for achievement in writing
- Encourages a conversation about values and character between students, students and teachers and students and parents
- Publicizes inspirational stories
- Is available to schools free of charge
